Cookies Fortune - See the beauty in everything
I really like Chinese food, and one of my favorite things about it, is the fortune cookie. Yes, I know they aren’t Chinese, and the words they try to teach you on the back of the fortune probably don’t really mean anything, but I like them anyway. What I don’t like, is when the writers of said cookie inserts, seem to run out of fortunes. So, instead of some little snippet of what my future is to be, I get proverb cookies, or wisdom cookies, or witty saying cookies, or worst of all, personal commentary cookies. I don’t need my cookie to tell me I’m good looking! I certainly don’t need it to tell me I have a nice personality, I’ve heard that enough, thank you. No, I need it to tell me that I’m going to be rich soon, or that my luck is about to change, or look out for that falling piano. I mean, is that really too much to ask? I don’t think so.
But, then again, every once in awhile, even though a cookie turns out to be fortune deficient, it still holds some little gem, written on a crisp white strip of paper in bright red ink. Every once in awhile, that little slip will tell you something you need to know or something that you really should remember.
Something like this: “See The Beauty In Everything”
I am forced to stop, and think about it. Yeah, you know, I really should remember to see the beauty in, everything. And for that moment, I am thankful for the lazy fortune cookie writer, for the cookie fortune stuffer, for the baker, the bagger, the boxer, the shipper, for the guys and/or gals who said, hey, let’s make a semi-sweet and semi-tasteless cookie, write something on a little piece of paper, shove it in the semi-sweet and semi-tasteless cookie, and give it to people that have just finished eating Chinese food. Yes, I am thankful for that little fortune cookie, and that little bit of dessert for the mind.

Hi there. Just stopping in. Hey, your name reminds me of a great quote (kind of like a fortune cookie message — the best ones) about Zero. Here’s the post that has it:

It’s about half-way down the post.
Cheers.
