On going “home”
They say
That you can’t
Go home
Again
But that doesn’t
Really matter
Because
Where I’m going
Isn’t really
Home
Anyway
It’s some place
Else
Some place where
I grew up
Some place where
I had my first love
And lost it
Where I learned
To laugh
To cry
To say goodbye
It’s where I
Buried friends
And my childhood
And too many
Of my dreams
But I found
So many
More
Like the dream
Of home
Dreamt
So that when
I go, where
I’m going
Now
I’ll remember
That it’s ok
To leave
Again
Because
Home still
Lies
Ahead
